PayFast verification #
To verify an account with PayFast, the following documents are required to be sent to PayFast via email to [email protected] or uploaded via their website:
- Identification documents (ID or passport)
- Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)
- Business registration documents (CK documents or company registration certificate)
- Bank account confirmation letter

Where to find PayFast integration details #
In order to integrate PayFast on your website, we’ll need your merchant ID, merchant key & security passphrase (which will need to be generated- it’s different from your password but should also be kept secret). Once your account is verified, you can obtain the necessary details in the PayFast merchant dashboard:
- Log in to your PayFast account.
- Navigate to Account > Personal Information.
- Your Merchant ID and Key can be found on the top right-hand corner of the page.

Ozow Verification Documents #
To verify an account with Ozow, the following documents are required:
- Completed merchant form (pages 1 to 17)
- Bank confirmation letter
- Company registration documents
- Directors ID
- Company logo (130 x 70 .png)
Ozow integration details #
Once your account is verified, you can retrieve the necessary details for integration in the Ozow merchant dashboard. We’ll need your site code, API Key & Private Key:
- Log in to your Ozow account and navigate to the “Settings” tab
- Click on “API Keys” and select “SiteCode”
- Your SiteCode, Private Key, and API Key can be found here

Payflex Verification #
To sign up for a Payflex account, you will need to email [email protected] and submit the following documents:
- Copy of Directors IDs
- Merchant Consent Form
- Proof of address for business
- CIPC Registration document (If sole prop, you don’t have to provide)
- Bank account confirmation letter (not older than 3 Months)
- Previous 3 months bank statements

PayPal #
PayPal is currently obtaining a payment system operator license in South Africa but in the meantime, FNB is the only way to withdraw funds into a South African payment gateway. After signing up for a PayPal account, you’ll also need to setup your FNB account
PayPal Integration details #
- Log in to your PayPal merchant dashboard
- Go to “Developer” and then “API Credentials”
- Click “Create App” to generate your Client ID and Secret Key
- Provide your PayPal email address and currency code to your website developer
